Heather Shorten

Heather Shorten founded Pompe Alliance in 2018 after being diagnosed with Pompe disease in 2015. Through her advocacy, she works to ensure that people living with Pompe and their caregivers feel informed, supported, and heard. Heather is especially passionate about mental health, healthcare equity, and improving the patient and caregiver experience throughout the Pompe journey.
